I just realized that I have no idea how to dress up as a man. I’ve only ever been formal/dressy in situations where I had to be feminine. I really want to look dapper as fuck when I have to dress up. When do you wear a tux? What about just nice pants and a jacket?…

Nothing in particular right now. I was shopping for something to wear for the few formal parties I will be going to next semester at school and realized I’m slightly lost.

A pair of good fitting jeans and a dress shirt (white is always good) for most events and stuff is always a good bet. You can always add a skinny tie if it’s a bit more formal. Also, having a suit jacket and a pair of dress pants is always good in case there is a fancy/formal dinner or something.

Generally though, when you’re just looking to dress up a bit but not be over the top a nice pair of jeans (darker is usually better) and a dress shirt and dress shoes is perfect :)

There’s a pretty good chance I won’t get in for my Howard Brown appointment before I leave for Canada which fucking SUCKS so if anyone has any information about transitioning/obtaining testosterone in BC in the Vancouver-ish area can you let me know? I haven’t found much online about it. Please and thank you.

Hey I’m transitioning in B.C. Canada. Shoot me a message or something if you have questions :)

  3. Work was a day of irrational freaking out

Being stealth is worth it but it will be better when I’m away form this town and after I’ve had surgery - at least top.

i really dont get the chocolate colors on packers…i have yet to met someone that is that dark like the chocolate colored packers are BLACK…no one is BLACK

Genitals are typically darker than the rest of your skin.

    but…

The darker packers hardly ever match. The ones targeted for most brown guys are too brown and then a lot of “chocolate” ones are too dark and unrealistically black. In my opinion it would be nice if there were a few shades in between the standard “pink,” “caramel” and “chocolate” because most don’t match.

I feel like I have to try harder to be and look masculine around people I’m not stealth to. As if I have to prove to them that I am, in fact, a man.

Sometimes I feel like I’m under a microscope and if I do something wrong, they’ll forget or reject that I’m a man.

I don’t worry about it with people who don’t know.

It’s exhausting and I’m probably being illogical.

I thought I was the only one who felt like this. At work or something I don’t feel the need to act hyper-masculine because no one knows me there and no one would ever be like “you’re not actually a dude.” Then when I’m with people I know (not all but many) I feel like I have to act a certain way. I feel as if I have to prove myself, I find this is especially true around  other guys (both cis and trans actually)

  7. GUYS. HELP.

    giant-giraffes-xoxo:

I just realized that I have no idea how to dress up as a man. I’ve only ever been formal/dressy in situations where I had to be feminine. I really want to look dapper as fuck when I have to dress up. When do you wear a tux? What about just nice pants and a jacket? Vests? Ties? And sizes? I don’t understand! Help me :( I feel like a little boy…

It depends on what the event it. Generally, a tux is a bit much unless you’re going to prom, getting married, or are part of a wedding party, etc. A suit might sometimes be too much too, again it depends on the event/situation.

Where are you going? I can try to help if I know the event.

  8. Ran into a girl from high school the other night

    1. Me: Hey, how are you?
    2. Her: Good, what happened to your voice?
    3. Me: I grew up and it got deep (I was drunk and thought it was a good way to explain it)
    4. Her: Do you have a cold?
    5. Me: No
    6. Her: Oh, it sounds like it.

  9. Choosing a name

    fuckyeahftms:

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could share some stories about how you came to choose your name. I’ve been having a lot of trouble with it since I see it as a really important decision and commitment to make. I’d really enjoy reading other people’s experiences with this, and I’d like to add that I’m not seeking advice — just personal thoughts on the matter. Thanks :)

When I first started to transition I wanted my Mom to choose my new name but she wouldn’t so I just thought about names I liked. I wanted something that would still suit me as I got older. I knew that my Mom said she gave us names that were “normal names” but not common.

However after about two years of transition my Mom gave me permission to legally change my name. I asked her if she wanted a son named Keith and she said “it wouldn’t be my first choice.” I asked her what her first choice would be and she said she didn’t know. We talked for a bit about finding a name together.

She asked me if there were any other names I would consider going by. I  said the only other one I liked was William (which had been my middle name) She liked the idea of me being named after her Dad and liked it better than Keith. So we made that decision.

I’m really glad about my name. I could have lived with Keith (I like it) but having my Mom have a say made it awesome.

I’ve been on T for over 4 months now and I haven’t had any significant changes really. the only differences are that I’ve had a slight increase in facial/leg hair growth, and downstairs growth. I started on one pump of Axrion gel everyday for a month and didn’t experience any changes and then told…

If you want to give her a frame of reference I started on a very low dose and was moved up. I started on .25mg every two weeks, in three months went up to .5mg every two weeks, now .75 mg every two weeks and over the next 5 months I’ll slowly be going up to 1mg every two weeks.

Starting low is normal but she should be checking your T levels and figuring out where you should be.
